Troubleshooting: the recovered file is corrupted
When using the Speed Data Recovery to recover documents, videos, photos, etc., if some recovered files can not be opened, or with mojibake, or damaged, please follow the following steps below to solve the problem.
1. To check whether the system overwrites the data needed to recover. If the data originated from the system drive, it would danger to recover. Because there are many new temporary data created during system running, randomly writing to the disk and even replacing the data that you are expecting to recover.
To check if you have recovered the files to the same partition, or did you copy the restored data to the same partition. Those operations are likely causing potential data damage.
If you got stuck with the above situation, please restore all the scanned data to other partitions as soon as possible, and reorganize it. Generally speaking, the data without replacing takes a higher chance to recover.
2. To check whether the storage device is healthy.
You can examine it by following steps during scanning.
Switch to the "File Path", then click "OO Found File" -> "Picture" -> "Jpg". You can preview all the pictures in the thumbnail view. If what you saw is merely the default icon, it indicates the hardware failure of the storage device.
Or switch to the "File Path", then click "OO Found File" -> "Document" -> "Doc" or "Xls". You can preview the contents of all files listing in the thumbnail view. If what you saw is merely the default icon instead of the contents, it indicates the hardware failure of the storage device.
